Founded in 2008 fertig design is an award-winning design studio based in Berlin. We develop reasoned design concepts across all media. We specialize in visual identity, website and event design. Together with a network of experts we create printed matter, campaigns, websites and real life environments.

As designers we believe in collaboration and open exchange with our clients. We listen carefully as we need to fully understand the intentions of a project to give it the right form. We like intelligent ideas and precise execution. We strive to make complex topics accessible, we understand minimalism as an agent for wit, inclusion and participation with both design and content. We don’t always create, we sometimes advise, mediate or conceptualise. 

We always try to materialize our designs in sustainable ways. And, last but not least, we are open and keen on donating our time, skills and resources as designers to initiatives, organisations or individuals fighting for social equity, justice or environmental issues.

Partners

Norman Palm 
studied Visual Communication at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He started his professional life at the international design firm Pentagram and specializes in visual identities for clients in culture, education and music.

Malte Rettberg 
studied Communication Design and Fine Arts at AKI, ArtEZ academy of art and design in Enschede, Netherlands. He works as an art director and graphic designer for a variety of clients in media, commerce and technology.

Alexander Winkelmann
studied Visual Communication at Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel. Aside from his professional work for clients in art and culture Alexander dedicates time to personal projects between design, art & research.
